Ohotu Station

Ohotu Station is located on SH 49 (the road that links Waiouru with Ohakune); west of Waiouru and approximately 15km east of Ohakune.

The primary function of this property is to grow the prime stock to live-weights determined by the marketplace.  This Station will receive lambs and young cattle from the Breeding Stations.  They are feed on pasture or forage crops, under controlled condition, until they gain sufficient weight to meet market targets.  Other land uses on this property include market gardening and grain production.

The future challenges for this Station are to build a modern irrigation system to maximise pasture and forage crop production without compromising the environment.
