Farm Services Manager

The purpose of the Farm Services role is to manage the supply of agribusiness advice, services and product by preferred suppliers of AWHI Station Managers; to manage AWHI’s off-farm systems and procedures, including implementing and installing a database programme, which incorporates all livestock, financial and land data into one system, called FarmHQ; to provide support to Station Managers, staff and CEO as required.
  • Experience;
    • Having spent her teenage years on a sheep and beef property just outside of Morrinsville, Amanda’s Agricultural career started as a field assistant for an agronomic consultancy business in the Waikato. This involved completing field, dry matter and yield assessments in what was a booming maize silage industry.
    • After a year long stint in retail, in 2003 to mid 2008, she worked for COGENT. COGENT is a unique and specialised strategic farm business management company, whose key objective is to provide a system that enables farmers to make good management decisions based on sustainable profitability measures.
    • Since then she has worked as an independent providing business support to farmers in the South Island, moved back to the North Island and was previously working with Atihau Whanganui as a client manager with Balance Chartered Accountants. Here she learnt a lot of the core business of Atihau Whanganui whereby her skills have been transposed into the current role of Farm Services Manager.
    • Currently working towards a Diploma in Business extramurally through the Open Polytechnic of NZ.
