Our Farming Philosophy

AWHI’s philosophy is one of sustainable farming coupled with an integrated “one - farm” operation.  Sustainable farming integrates environmental stewardship with farm profitability - the ability to produce profitably from the land without causing irreversible damage to the ecosystem.

This philosophy enables the stations to operate on a semi-autonomous basis but within a “leadership” framework set by Management and approved by the Board.  This framework sets direction, encourages teamwork, synergies, economies of scale and optimum performance.  The aim is a fully integrated operation from replacement, breeding and finishing through to marketing – a “seamless production chain”:
